One in five adults in America are taking prescriptions with a side effect of weight gain. These medications are mostly beta-blockers, diabetes drugs and antipsychotics.
Research hasn’t been clear, as the relationship between obesity and medication side effects has not always been tracked. New data, going forward, will shed light on the long term effects of those taking medications that can lead to weight gain-especially those in which obesity can further complicate the condition being treated, such as diabetes.
